Dear Folks,

We took the day off today to straighten this hooch out. It was a real mess after being empty for 2 1/2 months. Every new guy who came in the company has slept in this room. All the other hooches around the company area have been fixed up while we were gone. As soon as we can get some lumber we're going to fix this place up too. Our Company has put in a request for Paulson to be permanently assigned to our unit. He'll find out Monday whether he stays or not. I checked on my flight status today. I'm on flight orders since Feb.1st so I'll get paid for Feb., March and April. According to what I learned today they double the number of missions for combat assault. So by that standard I should have earned my wings by now. All of us radio operators are going to get together and see if we can get them to cut orders for our wings. We'll probably go to Long Binh on Monday to turn in our TDY orders and then go back Tuesday to pick up the money.

I got a couple letters today. I forget what the dates were. We have mail call here twice a day. They didn't have any mail this afternoon. I mailed another roll of film to Wards today. Had two delicious meals today at the EM club. Two orders French Fries for lunch and two orders French fries for supper. We just finished a game of monopoly and it's just about time for bed.

Rick
