Dear Folks,

Lost my pen again. Don't have the slightest idea what happened to it this time. Had guard duty last night. Wasn't so lucky this time. It rained all night. The rain made it pretty chilly. Needed my field jacket to keep warm. Did most of our watching from inside the bunker. You can't see as well from in there but it's a lot drier. Every place but Long Thanh lit up last night at midnight. We could see the ring of flares around Long Binh and Bearcat and could even hear the shooting. They gave us a big speech before we went on guard about not doing any shooting or popping flares at midnight. Somebody here fired a couple shots at midnight  and the Sergeant of the guard came around smelling the muzzle of all the weapons trying to find out who did the shooting. I've seen some crazy stuff but that takes the cake.

Got three letters and some magazines at mail call yesterday evening. He had a lot of mail and had picked it up kind of late so he had a good old fashioned mail call for a change. Also got three more letters today.

Yes, I now own Duff's refrigerator.

Rick
