Dear Folks,

We left Da Nang about one this afternoon. Got here at 3 pm. Before we left I stopped at the Golden Gate USO and bought a black light. So now we've got a really funky room.

When we got back I picked up my mail. 6 letters 27th-29th. Then we had to de-rig the ship and put the crypto gear back in the safe. That took till about 4:30 pm.

I came back and got unpacked and went over and had my first mess hall meal in about a week. Pork chops, potatoes and asparagus.

Thought I would have the evening off, but ended up on detail. They needed four guys to move a desk. The new CO had to have the whole orderly room rearranged and it had to be done tonight.

A new guy moved in here while I was gone. His name is Hoffman. He is a security guard. He moved in Seacord's place. I don't know how he can be in security and still live here but he does it.

Seacord moved everything out and lives in the Security platoon barracks. I saw him today and he said he got the guitar I sent back.

Guess I'll try to go to Long Binh tomorrow and get paid. Also think I'll put in a claim for TDY to Nha Trang and Vung Tau. If I get orders for this trip to Da Nang I'll put in for it too. All in all if I collect everything it should come to between $80 and $100. That would be enough to keep me going for a month and I could send my whole pay home.

Well time to go take a cold shower. Ugh!

Rick
