Dear Folks,

If I remember right I wrote a letter yesterday morning. Didn't get a chance last night. I got off from work at 4:30 pm and at 5 pm I was told I had guard duty. I guess it was about time for my turn since I haven't had guard since my birthday. But we just got some new guards in and I thought we had enough permanent guards. I guess some of the old ones must have left. I know Pomieletz pulled his last night of guard last night. He starts processing out this morning.

I saw a lot of lights out in the tree-line last night. They must have been Thai or ARVN patrols. I doubt if Charlie would walk around with searchlights.

I'm going to try and get the whole day off today since they didn't tell me I had guard till late yesterday evening. Your supposed to get a half day before and a half day off after guard. Since I didn't get the half day before I'll try to get the whole day after.

I ended up working yesterday afternoon. We had to check the racks on 038. I got out of de-rigging the other 3 ships. They did that last night while I was on guard.

100 DTG

Rick
