The following info summarizes crop, bedding plant and cut flower availability at our roadside market. Please keep in mind that crop availability varies daily due to weather and other cropping factors. Call ahead (410-255-3918) during market hours for current availabiliy. 10/1/99 THE MARKET IS CLOSED FOR THE SEASON!

8/25/99 At the market today you'll find corn, lopes, watermelon, tomatoes of several varieties, summer squash, cukes, zukes, peaches, okra, potatoes, peppers including hot peppers, honey and an occasional surpise. Lima beans will be coming on soon, we've picked a few already. Now is the time to get your canning tomatoes too. Don't forget!

7/2/99 Sweet Corn, tomatoes, several kinds of summer squash, tender red potatoes, cucumber, okra, cherry tomatoes, brocolli, onions, watermelon, honey, herbs.

6/24/99 We're now open daily with summer squash, fresh dug new potatoes and honey. We're very close to harvest on many other crops so check in often.

5/25/99 Strawberries are now for sale. The stand is open from Noon - 7 PM daily

1/17/99 The market is closed and the farmers are resting.

 


1998 Entries below:

10/16/98 Now available at the market are -- pumpkins, mums, pansies, gourds, winter squash, sweet potato, tomatoes (limited quantities), onion, peppers including hots, several varieties of apple, pears (usually), local honey,  potatoes, and  corn stalks, indian corn and other fall decorative crops. Turnips will start soon and we may yet get a picking or two from a late string bean field.

9/14/98 Now available at the market are -- pumpkins, mums, pansies, gourds, winter squash, sweet potato, tomatoes, onion, peppers, several varieties of apple, pears (usually), local honey, okra (occasionally), potatoes, and soon corn stalks, indian corn and other fall decorative crops.

8/4/98 Brocolli and kale are finished. There will be a break in the stringbean harvest till the next patch comes in about a week. We are picking lots of tomatoes and now is the time to get them in quantity for canning. If you don't see canning tomatoes on display please ask. We have them! And don't forget the CUT FLOWER patch. You can cut your own flowers for 25 cents/stem. The flowers are beautiful! We are at the peak of the season for many crops. If you are looking for quantities of anything please see the farmer. We can take orders for quantities of some crops.

7/21/98 Now picking summer squash, brocolli, kale, okra, new potatoes(red and white), cucumber, cherry tomatoes, peppers, onion, sweet corn, TOMATOES, tomatillo, jalepeno peppers, bananna peppers, hot portugal peppers, peaches. string beans, and lima beans, MD Wildflower and orange blossom honey, cantaloupe and watermelon.

7/7/98 Now picking summer squash, brocolli, kale, okra, new potatoes(red and white), cucumber, cherry tomatoes, peppers, onion, sweet corn, TOMATOES, tomatillo, jalepeno peppers, peaches. MD Wildflower and orange blossom honey, cantaloupe and watermelon.

6/29/98 Now picking summer squash, brocolli, kale, okra, new potatoes, cucumber, cherry tomatoes. The first batch of stringbeans have come and gone, but a new patch will start soon..

6/11/98 Add cucumber to the daily pick list.

6/8/98 There will be a temporary lull in the pea crop until the second patch comes on. Still picking summer squash, lettuce, collards, kale, broccoli and occasionally some snow peas. Cukes should be coming on soon. There are plenty of herbs in 4" pots and a few flower and vegetable bedding plants avialable.

6/3/98 Added summer squash, lettuce, collards and snow peas to the pick list. Strawberries are done for the season.

5/28/98 Now available at the market are vegetable bedding plants, herbs in 4" pots, a few flowers, strawberries, kale, brocolli, snap peas and kohlrabi.
