Dear Folks,

Well, today is BLT day. Back to Long Thanh. Just got a call from Capt. Higgason. He said get packed because we're all leaving some time this afternoon. Looks like I'll be leaving that pair of sunglasses at the PX. I checked this morning and he said they won't be in till tomorrow. Even after we leave here there are flights coming up here a couple times a week. So I should be able to get one of the crew chiefs to pick them up for me.

I never got around to writing last night. The officers bought five cases of beer and we all went to China Beach for the afternoon. So we ended the mission with a bang. Had a real good time. The water was pretty calm and exceptionally clear. We had about a dozen of us squeezed in our 3/4 ton and we went riding around to buy some ice.  They squeezed three guys in the front seat. The guy in the middle had to shift the gears for the driver.

We had two rocket attacks last night. They all hit near the airfield somewhere. They didn't sound real close. I think one hit in Gunfighter Village too.

And I guess that's it for now. Have to get packed. The next letter you get should be from Long Thanh. Haven't had mail for a couple days so my mailbox should be full when I get down there.

Rick
