Dear Folks,

Just as I was about to step out the door to go to the shower it started pouring rain. So I figured I'd write a letter before I go wade to the shower.

I was on supply detail this morning. That's one of the biggest wastes of manpower I've ever seen. The supply clerk has to have an extra man to help load the sheets which we turn in every Monday. He stood and watched me count the sheets into piles of 25. Then he  sat down and watched me tie them up and throw them in the truck. Then we rode to Long Binh and he watched me toss the six bundles of sheets off the truck. All this he could have done himself without even working up a sweat. Of course, we stopped at the PX and Snack bar before we left Long Binh. Like I said I do less work on detail than I do at the shop. Typical army organization.

Got 4 letters and a tape today. Glad to hear you got the slide projector. I'll have to be on the look out for some extra trays for it. I remember seeing some in Da Nang. Maybe tomorrow I'll get to work on a tape.

The enemy wouldn't dare bomb this place, it would end the confusion.

Rick

P.S. Tried to get a money order today for $350 but they said come back tomorrow. Not quite ready for operation yet.
