99 days to go
Long Thanh North

Dear Folks,

I thought I would get back to my old writing schedule last night, but I fell asleep early and didn't wake up till 4:30 this morning. The lights were still on so I wasn't the only one who fell asleep early.

I'm afraid my R&R will end today. O'Briant is already 2 days overdue in his return from Sidney. It's unbelievable how quiet this place is without him. Everybody has commented on it wondering why it is so quiet. When I say "O'Briant is gone", they say "I hope he never comes back."

Had the morning off yesterday for guard. I would have had the afternoon off but the racks in 038 had to be checked. If it has anything to do with radio relay I can't say no since I'm the only radio relayer here. I should have had the afternoon off, but that is just lost time now.

99 DTG. I'm smiling.

Rick

P.S. Got 7 letters yesterday, one from Aunt Ree.
